Modern Karibou has carefully selected each of the brands and manufacturers that are featured on our site. While we stock many of our most popular items in our warehouse, many items will be shipped to you directly from our suppliers. This approach saves time, money, resources and has a lower environmental impact since items are not being shipped twice.
Depending on the supplier and your location, your order will ship via Canada Post, Fedex, USPS or other 3rd party carriers. If your order includes multiple products from multiple manufacturers, you may receive separate shipments. Please note that most of our shipments contain valuable items, therefore our carriers are required to obtain a signature upon delivery.
We offer FREE STANDARD SHIPPING within Canada on most orders over $100 (before taxes). On orders under $100, a flat $12 shipping fee will be added to your shopping cart.
As noted on our home page, we offer free shipping on most orders. If you see a shipping charge in your cart, it's due to some products requiring a shipping charge mandated by our suppliers or the products are priced too low to offer free shipping.
Please note that customers are responsible for shipping costs on returns that are not damaged. Some items are not eligible for return as per the product page.
If you provide an incorrect delivery address at the time you place your order, such as no unit number, the original shipping fees will be applied to your order if we are not able to correct the issue with the shipping company. In most cases, the order will be returned to the warehouse and we will need to ship it again once it arrives.
Unfortunately, we can't offer free shipping to certain locations in Canada and a member or our team will contact you before your order is shipped. You also have the option of requesting a shipping quote before placing the order by sending an email to email@example.com.
Certain items available on Modern Karibou - because they are too heavy or require special handling - have to be shipped via a 3rd party freight carrier. If your purchase is delivered via freight, you will be contacted by the freight company by telephone 1-2 days prior to delivery (during Monday to Friday business hours), to schedule a delivery appointment. These deliveries are typically done with one driver and so you will need to be present to sign for the item(s) and bring items inside with the help of someone. Freight shipments are brought to the curbside, your garage or near the entrance of your home depending on the freight company. Freight delivery does not include lift gate, assembly, installation or delivery inside a residence or office. Some delivery companies may charge more if there are extraordinary shipping/delivery circumstances.
With freight shipments, you are also required to inspect the packaging and items immediately upon receipt and indicate on the packaging and/or paperwork if there is visible damage. You may choose to refuse delivery of the item(s) if the damage appears severe. Please keep all packaging even if it's damaged in case a return is deemed necessary.

White Glove Delivery
If you require inside delivery, please select white glove delivery or contact us if that option isn't available on the product page. White glove delivery will incur additional costs. We will contact you to inform you of the cost prior to shipping.
In some cases, based on location, these extra services may not be possible.

We ship to Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut and other remote regions but additional shipping fees may apply. Please contact us prior to placing an order to obtain a shipping quote. If you place an order without obtaining a shipping quote, we will contact you with shipping fees via email prior to shipping your order. You will need to respond to the email indicating that we can proceed with the order.

Please note that due to certain manufacturer restrictions some products cannot be shipped outside Canada.
Outside of Canada, we do not charge sales taxes, although you may be liable to import duties on some items. You are responsible for paying import duties to your country.
Some items are already in stock while others are shipped directly from the manufacturer. We make every effort to ensure that your merchandise reaches you accurately and expediently. In-stock items are usually shipped within 48 - 72 hours of receiving the order. Your merchandise should then arrive within 1 to 10 business days.
Quick shipping is available upon special request for some in-stock items. This option may involve additional costs, therefore we ask that you contact us for more information.
For made-to-order pieces and other items shipped directly from the manufacturer, lead times will vary with every manufacturer and it can range anywhere from 1 to 14 weeks.
Each product’s detail page indicates the estimated lead time for every article to be shipped from our warehouse or our supplier's warehouse. This information is noted below the price of the item for quick reference: e.g. "Availability: this product ships in 1-2 weeks from our warehouse".
